So what’s the deal with American Cyclist? It’s a question I get a lot, especially from longtime cyclists and savvy web surfers who are familiar with the multitudes of other online bicycle communities. My answer is pretty simple. It’s our mission to get more people, riding more bikes more places, safely.
That means supporting organizations, individuals and businesses that support cycling. It means supporting other websites that encourage biking to work, taking cycling vacations, reducing traffic congestion, reducing pollution, and encouraging cycling because of the impressive health benefits that result. From Mountain biking, to touring to racing in the community velodrome, we aim to support the benefits of cycling anywhere and anyway we can.
I don’t have to recite a litany of statistical data that portrays the issues facing Americans right now. With budget cuts, job loss and the inevitable deregulation that comes with economic panic, the environment suffers, the infrastructure suffers and so does our health. It seemed pretty obvious to me that promoting the growth of responsible cycling improves our collective prospects in all of these areas.
So if your agenda fits any of these goals, be it personal, organizational or corporate, we’re behind you one hundred percent. Let us know how we can help.
